Grid Connection of the Fehérgyarmat Solar Power Plant

A solar power plant with a nominal connection capacity of 49.999 MVA was implemented in the outskirts of Fehérgyarmat as part of an investment by 50 MW Napenergia Kft., with the grid connection carried out in 2025 with the involvement of our company.

The Spain-based investor’s specific technical requirements - differing from Hungarian standards - posed significant challenges during both the design and construction phases. These included the procurement of special cables, devices, and equipment, as well as the implementation of a control system deviating from local practices. However, through continuous professional coordination, the project was successfully delivered in line with the client’s expectations, from the modification of permitting designs through to as-built documentation.

Our scope of work included:

DSO side:

  • reconstruction of 2 overhead line bays at an existing operational substation,
  • installation and dismantling of a temporary (provisional) system,
  • civil and electrical construction of 1 new busbar bay,
  • installation of grounding grid,
  • installation of indoor and outdoor cables,
  • laying and termination of secondary cables.

PV side:

  • construction of a control building,
  • installation of medium-voltage switchgear,
  • civil and electrical construction of 1 transformer bay,
  • laying of 22 kV medium-voltage cables,
  • installation of grounding grid,
  • installation of indoor and outdoor cables,
  • laying of secondary cables.

Design scope:

  • review and modification of permitting documentation for both DSO and PV substation sections,
  • busbar arrangement of an existing/operational 132/22 kV DSO π-type substation, including civil, primary, and secondary designs,
  • preparation of detailed civil and electrical design documentation for the PV substation,
  • preparation of as-built documentation.
