Connecting the Ballószög solar power plant to the grid

Within the framework of a project led by our Substations business unit, a state-of-the-art photovoltaic power plant with a capacity of nearly 50 MW was connected to the electricity grid in the Ballószög area, contributing to the expansion of domestic renewable energy generation.

During the investment project implemented in the Ballószög area, Naperőmű Farm Fejlesztő Ltd. constructed a 49.95 MW photovoltaic (PV) power plant in 2025. Our company was responsible for the design, permitting, and construction of the grid connection, while the Network and Transmission Line business units of SPIE Hungaria Kft. also contributed to the implementation. The project has since been acquired by MOL Plc.

Substation works (DSO and PV) included:

  • installation of approximately 40 tons of galvanized steel structures,
  • more than 8 km of measuring, signaling and control cables,
  • nearly 2 km of round steel used for grounding,
  • approx. 8,500 in-house man-hours and around 3,700 subcontractor man-hours in electrical works.
