Miskolc, 20 March 2026 - With the opening of the 132/22 kV Bogáncs Street substation in Miskolc, another important milestone has been reached in the development of the electricity network in the southern part of Miskolc. The investment is part of the MVM Group's network development programme, in which SPIE Hungaria Kft. also participated.
The new substation plays a key role in serving the growing electricity demand in the southern part of Miskolc. The investment was implemented as part of the MVM Group's network development programme, to which SPIE Hungaria Kft. made a significant professional contribution.
In the course of the project, SPIE Hungaria Kft. was responsible for the complete implementation of the high-voltage transmission line connecting the substation, as well as for the electrical technology design work for the substation.
The development is particularly important due to the growing energy demands in the region. In the southern part of Miskolc, the population has increased significantly in recent years and more and more households are installing solar systems, which puts an increased load on the existing electricity grid. The new substation will therefore not only meet current demand, but will also lay the foundations for the future energy development of the area and the integration of up to 25 MW of renewable generation capacity into the electricity system.
The transfer of the Bogáncs Street substation is not only of major importance from an energy point of view, but could also have a significant economic impact: the modern infrastructure could create the conditions for further investments in the surrounding industrial park, thus giving a new impetus to the economic development of the region.
